Women wanting to schedule a mammogram should call the Angoon Health Center at 788-4600. Women who aren't due for a screening for a couple of months also should call, because it's possible the mobile mammogram van might be able to fit you in.
All women will need to arrange to have a current clinical breast exam (done within the past six months) before they schedule their mammogram. If you have not had a current breast exam since November, you will need to arrange to have one before you schedule your mammogram. If you are also due for your women's health exam, including your Pap smear and heart health screening, please let the Angoon Health Center know so sufficient time is scheduled for you to have this done.
WISEWOMAN services also will be available when the mobile mammogram van is in town.
Women with no insurance and/or a limited income may be eligible for a free clinical breast exam, mammogram and heart health screening. To find out if you qualify, contact the Angoon Health Center.
The mobile mammogram van is sponsored by Bartlett Regional Hospital and the SEARHC Breast and Cervical Health Program.
