I purchased Mommy-N-Me Wear in December 2004, so nearly 4 months now.
What is your business?
Mommy-N-Me Wear is a consignment shop. We sell children's clothing size preemie to pre-teen, maternity clothes and baby gear. Consignment benefits the consumer in two ways. How many times has your baby outgrown an outfit before he/she ever had a chance to wear it? At Mommy-N-Me Wear your can bring in the new and gently used clothes that don't fit anymore. We sell the clothes on your behalf and give you 40% of the sale price. You can then use that money to purchase clothes that fit your child's current needs.
Why did you go into business?
I have always knows that I wanted to be in business for myself. I was just waiting for something that felt right for me. Mommy-N-Me Wear was my answer. I'm able to tackle my creative entrepreneurial side while still being with my two small kids. Because it is a child/family based business they're able to come to the shop with me each day. We can still color, paint, run around like we do at home. I get mental stimulation and they get social stimulation. I feel so lucky that I've been able to find something that provides that balance.
