Diets topic of Men's Health Forum
A Men's Health Forum is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Juneau's Centennial Hall.

Dr. Mark Moyad, a nutritionist with the University of Michigan, will be the keynote speaker for a second year with his presentation "What Works, What's Worthless."

Dr. Moyad will share the latest findings about nutrition supplements, heart-healthy diets and proven health strategies.

He will also provide an analysis of various health surveys and explain which should be taken seriously, and those that should not.

Local urologist Dr. Michael Singsaas will present a topic specific to men, prostate health.

Local and national health care providers and organizations will have booths from 5-5:30 p.m.

The forum is organized by Cancer Connection of Juneau. Board member Alex Viteri said the event is aimed to help men with health issues.

"Our goal is to help people living with cancer and looking at available resources," Viteri said. "Dr. Moyad will help you learn and understand what is important about food. That educational process is really important."

Free food will be served and door prizes will be offered.

The event is free and open to the public. Women are welcome.
