Long-term care options addressed in workshops
"Sixty percent of Americans over age 65 will need some form of long-term care," said David Woods, president of the LIFE Foundation. Understanding options is the first step in planning the rest of your life.

Two educational workshops will be presented on long-term care options by Waddell & Reed financial advisors, Cynthia Gibson, CMFC and Kathryn Jeffers, CFP® along with long-term care specialist Tim Ripp of Associates of Clifton Park, Clifton Park, NY.

"In financial planning it's critical to examine how the cost of Long-Term Care can impact the quality of life in retirement. Understanding the many Long-Term Care alternatives and deciding on a course of action goes a long way in giving my clients peace of mind," Jeffers said.

"A cornerstone in developing a financial plan includes helping clients plan for their long-term health care," Gibson said.

The first presentation will provide a comprehensive and informational look at the many long-term care options. It will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at the Travel Lodge-Glacier Room with refreshments provided. The second presentation, for PERS/TRS employees, provides answers to the questions you never knew to ask about the state's long-term care insurance. The time is from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Mendenhall Library Conference Room. Please RSVP to 523-5406 or so a lunch can be reserved. Both are free and open to the public.
