Book signing with Juneau author, Walter H. Adams, Sr. from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at Hearthside Books in the Nugget Mall. He can also be heard in an interview on KTOO at 3 p.m. Friday, March 23. In Adams' new book, "The Way it Was!," readers experience charm, drama, beauty, and pain of growing up in a small southeast Alaskan village during the 1940s and 1950s. In 1995, Adams' poem, "Those Trying Times," was published in the International Library of Poetry issue entitled "Walk through Paradise." Adams, Sr., whose Tlingit name means "Smiling Mountain," is a Native Alaskan and a retired corrections officer and counselor who resides in Juneau.
