Making LocalWork: Papa Murphy's

American's love their pizza, and Alaskan's are no exception. Pizza night has a long-standing tradition in many families. For those lucky enough, pizza night meant a parent or grandparent preparing fresh dough with everyone's favorite toppings. Bruce and Victoria Richardson know pizza. They started their professional relationship with Papa Murphy's in 1997, when they opened their first franchise store. When the Richardson family begun searching for a new store and place to live, Juneau quickly moved to the top of the list.

"After our first visit to Juneau, we felt an immediate connection. Not only were the people and community warm and inviting, but the lifestyle and outdoor opportunities were a great fit for our family," says Victoria. "In our household everyone gets a vote - the kids, the dog. We were very excited and can honestly say we picked Juneau for the people and the life style."

The Richardson's take an enormous amount of pride in their store, their employees and their products. "We have a wonderful group of employees who are enthusiastic and energetic just waiting to serve you. We make your pizza, your way, fresh every time. Papa Murphy's offers customers an excellent product - we make our dough fresh each morning, we offer a large selection of fresh toppings, and we pile on the cheese!" says Victoria. "Folks love the convenience, quality and value that no other pizza chain can bring to family pizza night."

Papa Murphy's is one of the largest pizza chains in the country and the pioneer and leader of the take 'n' bake pizza segment. By baking Papa Murphy's pizzas at home, customers get to experience the home-baked aroma of a convenient, delicious meal that the brand is known for. In addition to handmade pizzas, the company offers a growing menu of take 'n' bake items, including Cheesy Bread, Cinnamon Wheels, and chocolate chip cookie dough. Papa Murphy's was recently voted "#1 Rated Pizza Chain" by surveyors in Zagat Survey's 2010 and 2011 Fast Food Surveys and is a four-time recipient of Pizza Today's Chain of the Year award.

Stop by Papa Murphy's located across from the Mendenhall Mall and bring home-baked family pizza night back to your house!
