JUNEAU - No plans yet for spring break? Several local organizations and groups are offering spring break programs for kids. Space is limited, so register soon.
Saga Adventure Camps
SAGA also will hold its annual Adventure Winter Camps staring March 23. Session I for 7- to 12-year-olds will be from March 23 to 25. Session II for 13- to 17-year-olds will be March 26 to 28. Registration is required, and space is limited to 10 kids per session.

Kids Explorer Week
The Canvas and the City Museum join forces to provide a program for kids ages 8-11, offering participants a fun way to explore art, history and their community. Spring Break Kids Explorer Week runs March 23-27, 12:30-4:30 p.m. Cost is $23/day or $115/ week, which includes all materials and fees.

The schedule is as follows: Monday - Then & Now: Historic downtown architecture tour and Alexander Calder inspired mobiles and wire construction; Tuesday - Ice skating & Andy Goldsworthy inspired art with a splash of Jackson Pollock; Wednesday - Sketches of Juneau: Tour of public art and painting based on sketches; Thursday - Bird beaks, bird-watching and make your own bird mask; Friday - History of Juneau-Douglas basketball and ball art
"Junk Break," Spring Break 2009 Arts Education, includes music with Ed Littlefield, art with Sarah Conarro and theatre with Roblin Davis. The program runs March 23 - 27, from 9 a.m.-noon. at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center and costs $80 for the week. For details or to sign up call 209-8457. Limited to 45 students.
