Financial Independence for Women class offered

JUNEAU - AWARE will offer five sessions on the topic of Financial Independence for Women. Sessions will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. on the first two Tuesdays of April, May and June: April 6 and 13, May 4 and 11, and June 1 and 8. The free sessions are open to all women in Juneau. Childcare will be provided.

The first hour of each Tuesday will focus on the basics of financial independence; the second hour will be different each evening. The schedule is as follows:

April 6 - The Basics: Learn about establishing credit, saving money, and the resources that will help

April 13 - Give Yourself Some Credit: Knowing about and repairing credit

May 4 - Pay Yourself First: Ways to save

May 11 - Wheeling and Dealing: How to buy a car

June 1 - The Big Picture: How to set savings goals and achieve them

June 8 - Becoming a Banker: The basics of money management .
