St. Patrick's Celebration

Fire on McGinnis will be putting on a St. Patrick's Day performance from 9 p.m.-midnight Saturday, March 17, at the Hangar on the Wharf Ballroom. The Gillie Brogue's will provide special Irish / Celtic music from 6-7:45 p.m. in the Hangar restaurant. 'March Into Spring'

The Juneau-Douglas High School music department presents two concerts jointly titled "March Into Spring" this month. All JDHS student bands, directed by Ken Guiher, will preform Tuesday, March 20. All student choirs under the direction of Richard Moore, and orchestras under the direction of Julia Bastuscheck will perform March 22. Both concerts will be held at 7 p.m. in the JDHS auditorium.


The story of a 31-year-old woman's strange journey toward herself written by Sarah Brooks, performed by Chelsea Rohweder and directed by John Leo. The show is at 7:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday, March 16-18, at Perseverance Theatre's Phoenix Stage. The show is about Celia Geering, 31 and overwhelmed by society's pressured questions, journeys from Juneau to the Midwest for her grandmother's funeral. Along the way, a series of surreal events tilt a mirror for Celia.
