Clayton attends national Legion meeting
Jean Clayton of Juneau recently attended the American Legion Auxiliary's 24th annual Awareness Assembly in the nation's capital, Feb. 27 - March 2, for the group's national mid-year meeting. Clayton, Western Division National Vice President, is a member of the local American Legion Auxiliary.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the leadership of the organization to hear prominent Washington speakers, obtain program information and advocate for The American Legion's legislative initiatives with lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

A highlight of the conference was the presentation of the Public Spirit Award. National President Sandi Dutton of Beltsville, Md. honored Madeleine Albright as the Public Spirit Award recipient. Albright was selected for her lifetime of service to our nation, her leadership in international relations, and setting a new standard for American women and women worldwide.
