The Alaska Breast and Cervical Cancer Health Check program provides breast and cervical cancer screening to uninsured or underinsured women between the ages of 18-64 who meet certain income guidelines. Since 1995, the program has provided more than 60,000 breast and cervical cancer screenings to about 20,000 medically underserved Alaskan women. More than 130 cases of breast and cancer have been diagnosed.

Supporters rally for breast and cervical cancer checkup programAdvocates supporting the Alaska Breast and Cervical Cancer Health Check program will hold a rally on the steps of the State Capitol Building on Wed., March 9, at noon. Gov. Murkowski and First Lady Nancy Murkowski will join them to support a program which helps save women's lives.
