Juneau engineers pick top builder, project of 2013

The Juneau chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Alaska Capital Engineers has named Mark Pusich as engineer of the year and the Hyder Causeway reconstruction as the top project of the year.

Pusich is a civil engineer at R&M Engineering and was honored for his numerous projects and community service. Pusich volunteers as a junior-varsity baseball coach at Thunder Mountain High School and serves on the City and Borough of Juneau Planning Commission.

The Hyder Causeway project was a $10 million effort to rebuild and expand the road link between Hyder and Harbor Island, home to the town's seaplane dock and boat basin.
