In recognition of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, Aiding Women in Abuse and Rape Emergencies (AWARE) has announced its first Arts and Media Scholarship Contest. Juneau teens between the ages of 14 and 19 are invited to create art and media that demonstrates positive and healthy relationships. Three top winners will receive scholarships in the amount of $50, $100, and $150. These scholarships can be used to attend an art class at the University of Alaska Southeast, a workshop at a local studio, a dance lesson or more.

AWARE announces scholarship contest for creative teens

In recognition of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, Aiding Women in Abuse and Rape Emergencies (AWARE) has announced its first Arts and Media Scholarship Contest. Juneau teens between the ages of 14 and 19 are invited to create art and media that demonstrates positive and healthy relationships. Three top winners will receive scholarships in the amount of $50, $100, and $150. These scholarships can be used to attend an art class at the University of Alaska Southeast, a workshop at a local studio, a dance lesson or more.

The contest is open to a variety of artistic expressions including, but not limited to, drawings, photographs, music videos, poetry and orations. The deadline for submissions is March 14.
