Thank You Dear CW:
My family and I would like to convey our most sincere thanks and appreciation to our family and friends in Southeast Alaska for the outpouring of sympathy and prayers for my father, Richard James Stitt, Sr. during his illness and passing on November 14, 2004. We were all so moved by the many get well cards and later, condolence cards, donations, beautiful flower arrangements sent to my parents' home while he was ill and sent to his memorial at the Centennial Hall and the ANB Hall. We appreciated all the emails, phone calls, letters, food donations and visits to my parents' home during his illness to offer get well wishes and later to offer expressions of sympathy.

During Dad's illness and since his passing, we have learned how many lives he has touched. We have been told over and over again that he was an inspiration for some to learn their culture and language, he was an inspiration for some to obtain a higher education, he was an inspiration for some to become life-long learners, he was an inspiration for some to always give to others in need and he was an inspiration for some to show their children how much they love them by loving and honoring their mother. He was a great role model, not only to our family but also to many others. So many people have expressed their respect and admiration for him and his accomplishments.

My family and I will always remember the kindness and generosity of everyone who knew my father. Thank you all for your love and support during this trying time.
