Get competitive at the Winter X Games
Whether you're a seasoned competitive skier or not, you have an opportunity to feel like one when the Winter X Games open the slopes for skiing fast and fun (as fast and as fun as you like) this weekend. The Games are sponsored by UAS and open to the public. Skiers wanting to compete can register the morning of the event they're interested in, at least 30 minutes before event start, at $5 per event. Age categories are Youth (17 and under), Senior (18-30) and Master (over 30). Here's the schedule:
Saturday, March 5

8am-2pm - Registration

10:00am Slalom Style Race - Alpine race on Ego

11am-2pm BBQ

1:00pm Xtreme Team Relay - 4 member team consists of 1 Alpine Skier, 1 Snow-boarder, 1 Telemark Skier, and 1 member on your choice of downhill gear.EMust have at least one person of the opposite gender.

3:00pm Downhill Dummy Competition - Build a dummy with your team (max. 4 people) to go down Dolly Varden where the only human contact is at the start line. Win for Best Crash, Best Theme Costume and Best Overall Run. Dummy must be on skis, snowboard(s) or sled(s) and under 100 lbs., you clean up your dummy's mess if it crashes and you must walk your dummy up Platter. Please register dummy by 2pm and be onsite at the top of Dolly Varden by 2:30pm. Get creative!

Sunday, March 6

8am-12pm - Registration

10:00am Nordic Race - Nordic race on Lower Meadow Loop, Skate or Classic

12:00pm Slope Style - Competition in the terrain park for skiers or snowboarders

1:30pm Snow Art Judging - Snow painting and snow sculpture, any groups for sculpture must register by Monday February 28

2:00pm Xtreme Tubing - Crazy tubing on the hill, pick up candy and a bigger prize on the way down.E Best Theme Costume competition too!

2-5pm Live music in the lodge - with "4 Brave Monkeys"

3:30pm Awards Ceremony
