The violin trio of Steve Tada, Lisa Ibias, and Allan Engstrom perform Vivaldi's Concerto for Three Violins in F major, Op. 23. Vivaldi wrote over 300 concerti, including works for two, three, and four solo violins with orchestra.
This particular piece features intricate harmonic writing and technical sophistication.
The trio will perform the concerto with piano accompaniment instead of orchestra.
Besides the Vivaldi trio, the program also includes C.M. von Weber's Concertino, Op. 26 featuring Sharon Hatch on clarinet and Sue Kazama on piano; Beethoven's Variations on a Theme by Mozart featuring Mary Riles on cello and Sue Kazama on piano; L. Sinigaglia's Two Pieces for Horn and Piano featuring John Schumann on French horn and Jacque Farnsworth on piano.
Saturday's performance is at Northern Light United Church, and Sunday's performance at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Tickets are $12 and will be available at the door.
