There are many cultures that are slowly losing their languages, and there are some that have already lost theirs. To help and try to prevent this from happening, middle schools should teach foreign languages. Floyd Dryden should have a foreign language class.
To begin with, learning a foreign language could help in high school or college. The more familiar you are with the language, the easier it is to learn more. The more you learn, the closer you are to being fluent. In addition, learning a different language could help in college because some colleges require you to know a different language.
Also, learning another language now could help with any future jobs. One exceptional skill that will set you apart in the job market today is foreign language fluency. Some examples of jobs that may require another language are the following: doctors, librarians, researchers, historians, museum curators, international lawyers, teachers, marketing, soldiers, spies, and military. Not only does foreign language knowledge help people find jobs, it can also increase pay. For example, if you are in the U.S. military, you can be given a Foreign Language Proficiency Pay if you are fluent in another language.
Not only could learning another language help with future jobs, it could help students learn about their heritages. It's good for students to learn about their heritages and their languages because many languages and cultures are slowly fading away. Plus, students could learn their ancestry.
I feel that it's very necessary that Floyd Dryden teaches a foreign language. Learning another language could help with high school, college, and future jobs, and for some students, it could help them learn about their heritages. Now, everybody should go try to convince the school board to bring a foreign language class back to Floyd Dryden.
