The 1is2 Many Suicide Task Force is looking for participants to attend the Survivor Voices Talking Circle about suicide loss. The training will be held in Juneau on March 5 and 6. Survivor Voices is a National Best Practice program that teaches those bereaved by suicide how to speak safely and effectively about their loss.
Stories of suicide loss told from the heart are powerful. They promote healing for those that are newly bereaved, educate the public about how to support survivors of suicide loss, and increase awareness of suicide risk factors and warning signs.
The training encourages and promotes mutual support and healing among participants. The small group of no more than eight survivors allows time for sharing and caring. Participants will be interviewed to ensure they are emotionally ready to tell their story without having a setback in their own healing.
