Mt. Fair-weather Golf Course in Gustavus closes

After the death of Morgan DeBoer in October of 2016, his son Benjamin DeBoer decided to close the Mt. Fair-weather Golf Course in Gustavus.

The course opened in 1998 and has hosted many youth, women, and men’s tournaments. Morgan built the course to provide a place for entertainment for the community but mainly wanted to protect his parents homestead land from development and property taxes. Benjamin said his father used to say, “ I would rather have nine flag sticks then 90 condominiums.”

Mt. Fair-weather Golf Course has been featured in many golf magazines and even the New York Times. Ben and Morgan wish to extend their gratitude to everyone that has played golf and enjoyed the views the course has to offer.

Morgan’s celebration of life ceremony will be on July 2 in Gustavus. Everyone is invited.
