Anchorage engineering firm acquires Toner-Nordling & Associates, Inc.
DOWL Engineers has announced the acquisition of Toner-Nordling & Associates, Inc., a long-time Juneau-based provider of land surveying and civil engineering services.

Toner-Nordling & Associates has been integrated with DOWL's civil engineering practice, which focuses on site development, utility design, and transportation planning and engineering. The operations of Toner-Nordling & Associates will remain in Juneau.

Toner-Nordling & Associates, Inc., the oldest continuously operating civil engineering/land surveying firm in Alaska, is a 15-person multi-disciplined firm specializing in civil engineering, land surveying, contract administration and inspection services. Principals in the firm, Pete Hildre, P.E., and William T. Pence, PLS, have been with the firm for more than 20 years.

The company continues to operate as Toner-Nordling and is now a division of DOWL LLC. Peter Hildre and Bill Pence retain ownership within DOWL LLC, with most day-to-day decisions being made locally.

DOWL Engineers provides a wide range of civil engineering and related services, including facility site planning and design; the design of roadways, highways, airfields, and trail systems; and water, sewer and storm drain systems. The firm is based in Anchorage and has offices in Redmond, Washington and Tucson, Arizona.

Alaska Testlab, a division of DOWL, provides materials testing and construction inspection services and operates facilities on Kodiak Island. DOWL serves a wide range of clients, including private developers and land owners; federal, state and local governments; and architects, construction contractors and other engineering firms.
