Contra Dance

New England barn dance Saturday, Feb. 17, with instruction at 7:30 p.m., dance 8 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Live music with Rumblefish and dance caller Tom Paul. All dances taught. Beginners welcome. No partners necessary. Bring clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. Cost: $8 public, $7 members of the Alaska Folk Festival and Juneau International Folk Dancers, $5 seniors and students. Carnaval!

The Fiesta Latina will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Centennial Hall. Dance performances from Cuba, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and more. Live music from "Samba" Borealis with free dance lessons. Costumes and masks are encouraged. The event is open to all ages. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students at the door.
