Rasmuson Foundation offers grants
March 15, 2005, is the postmark deadline for the biannual Rasmuson Foundation Individual Artist Project Awards. The Awards program, part of the ten-year, $20 million Arts and Culture Initiative announced by the Foundation in December 2003, will provide financial awards to individual artists living and creating in Alaska.

The Individual Artist Project Award grants up to $5,000 for emerging, mid-career, or mature artists to accomplish specific, short-term projects that have a clear benefit to the artist and the development of his/her work. The Awards will fund individual artists at various stages of their career, working in any artistic discipline, and whose work is defined by excellence and reflects any of the diverse cultural and aesthetic communities in Alaska.

The Rasmuson Foundation believes that the Awards will provide artists with the resources to concentrate and reflect on their work, to immerse themselves in a creative endeavor, and to experiment, explore and develop their artistry more fully.

Program guidelines and application information can be found here at the Foundation website at www.rasmuson.org.
