Discovery Southeast spring break camp, Discovery Days set

Discovery Southeast has set its spring break camp, held in conjunction with the Juneau-Douglas City Museum, for March 20-24. Campers will visit a different natural area each day, “armed with archives from the museum’s collection so we can see and document the change in our backyard.”

The organization’s annual discovery days, open to 2nd-5th graders, are set for Feb. 21-22 and March 2-3. During these days, schools partner with the organization to give the kids a day outside exploring and learning about the world with naturalists and scientists.

All Discovery Southeast programs are offered on a sliding scale, thanks to community donations. The full price is $40 per day, but, according to an informational email, “you are welcome to pay whatever is right for your family.”
