JUNEAU - A basic hunter education course will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 20 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Juneau Hunter Education Facility.
The course includes instruction on firearm safety and handling, wildlife conservation and management, game laws and regulations, and hunter ethics and responsibility. Successful graduates will be awarded a lifetime hunter education certification recognized throughout North America.
The cost for independent study materials is $10. The study workbook must be completed prior to the start of the course and all materials brought to the class.
To register, students are required to purchase a packet of study materials at the hunter education facility or the Douglas office of the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Room 201. The Douglas ADF&G office can be reached at 465-4265.
