The course includes instruction on firearms safety and handling, wildlife conservation and management, game laws and regulations, hunter ethics and hunter responsibility. Successful graduates will gain lifetime hunter education certification recognized throughout North America.
If you are interested in taking the course, you can pick up a packet of study materials either at the indoor shooting range or at the Douglas office of the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, room 210. The materials cost $10.
