Juneau Symphony winter concerts Feb. 11-12

Conductor Troy Quinn and the Juneau Symphony will perform music by great American composers for its winter “American Roots” concerts.

Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Barber’s Adagio for Strings will be highlights of the performance, as will the brass in a stirring trumpet solo on John Williams’s soundtrack from Lincoln as well as a trombone showstopper in Anderson’s Bugler’s Holiday. The symphony will invite the audience to sing along with its concluding audience favorite, America the Beautiful.

Participate in the concert by submitting your photo to the #juneauroots photo project. See your photo(s) on the big screen as a visual complement to the American Roots concerts. If your photo is selected, you will receive one free ticket to either performance, so you can see your photo in action. To be eligible, you must share your photo on Facebook and/or Instagram with the tags @juneausymphony and #juneauroots. Learn more at juneausymphony.org.
