Nancy White Carlstrom

makes a rare library appearance 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26. Carlstrom is one of the most beloved picture book writers in the country with over 50 books written including the classics "Jessie Bear, What Will You Wear," "Happy Birthday, Jesse Bear," "Raven and River," and "Does God Know How to Tie Shoes." Alaska writer John Straley

will speak at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Ketchikan Public Library. His first book "The Woman Who Married a Bear" won the Shamus Award for Best First Mystery in 1993. Since then he has won acclaim all over the world for such books as "The Curious Eat Themselves," "Angels Will Not Car," and his latest, "Cold Water Burning."
