Bump 'N Grind

Only three Juneau Grinds left before the summer so put together a five-minute song, dance, poetry or talent and bring it to the Bump 'N Grind, Juneau's over 21, anything goes talent show. The show is at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the VFW Hall and cost is $5.

Evening of Jazz, Cabaret

The event features Anne Phillips, Bob Kindred, Paul Meyers and Matt Perri and friends and neighbors Jan. 26-28, at the Ted Ferry Civic Center. These performances are the culmination of two-week long workshops with wonderful professional jazz musicians from New York City. Bonus events with the visiting musicians will include Dixie Land Jazz Sunday Champagne Brunch on Jan. 21 and Jazz 'n Salad sing along lunches with Anne Phillips. Wearable Art Show

The Out of Line the 21st annual show in Ketchikan will feature local and regional artists to showcase art adorned by the body. Tickets are available from the Arts Council, Tongass Business Center, Soho Coho, Madison Hardware and McPherson Music. Gala shows are Friday, Feb. 2, and Saturday, Feb.3 and the all ages welcome show is Thursday, Feb. 1. Call 225-2211 for tickets and more information.

"Terra Nova"

This show is presented by First City Players of Ketchikan. Ted Tally's award-winning play comes to life on the Kayhi stage March 2-3 and 8-9. In late 1911, five Englishmen and five Norwegians raced to be first to the South Pole. Both parties reached the pole. Only then Norwegians went home. This is the story of the Englishmen. Samarabalouf!

Torch Nights presents Samarabalouf! in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, in the Kayhi Auditorium. This delightfully crazy music trio hails from France and plays original music and combine diverse musical influences to deliver one-of-a-kind dynamic live performances sprinkled with humor, fun for all ages. Robert Burns Night

Celebrate the poetry and life of Scotland's foremost poet, and gather with your Old Bar Harbor Caledonia Society friends at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Steamer's Restaurant. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for cocktails and haggis. Tickets are available now at Steamer's, the Ketchikan Arts Council, and through members of OBHCS: $15 under 12 yrs., $30 adults.
