NOAA Fisheries invites vessel owners, shoreside seafood processors, and registered buyers to attend one of a series of outreach meetings in Southeast Alaska. The purpose of the meetings is to answer questions and address concerns about the new North Pacific Groundfish and Halibut Observer Program. The new observer program went into effect Janu. 1.
Wednesday, Jan. 16, noon, Harrigan Centennial Hall, Maksoutofff Room, 330 Harbor Drive, Sitka
Thursday, Jan. 17, 9 a.m., Centennial Hall, Hickel Room, 101 Egan Drive, Juneau
Meetings will cover important changes to how observers are deployed, how the program is funded, and which vessels and processors must have some or all of their operations observed.
