Now in its seventh year and played throughout the country, the game was invented by Jennifer Watson Roberts, a former executive director of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte, NC. Participants create a team (of one to as many people as they'd like!) to test their knowledge of international affairs, geography, history, and culture. This year's WORLD QUEST will take place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 at Centennial Hall.
Emceed by Mike Doogan, humorist, columnist, author and state representative, the event features 10 rounds of questions (presented verbally and visually), which touch on everything from the United Nations to international law. A buffet of international cuisine and a silent auction round out the evening's offerings, with proceeds going to help support the Juneau World Affairs Council year-round program offerings.
Tickets for the event are $50 each and are available at Hearthside Books, from individual board members or at the door the evening of the event.
