Photo: Governor recieves historic flag
Lt. Col. David Osborn and Sgt. Maj. Alan Feaster of the Alaska Army National Guard's 3rd Battalion, 297th Infantry present an Alaskan flag to Governor Sarah Palin. The flag was flown on a Humvee in Southern Iraq. Osborn and Feaster were two of 575 Alaska soldiers who served in Kuwait and southern Iraq from October 2006 to October 2007, and were visited by Gov. Palin in July. The 3rd Battalion consolidated Guardsmen, from more than 80 Alaska communities, was the largest Alaska National Guard mobilization since World War II.
