'One Night Stand' opening at the JAHC showcases Individual Artist Grant recipients

The recipients of the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council's Individual Artist Grants will be presenting their work during the "One Night Stand" series at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center during the month of January.

According to a release from the organization, these grants are "awarded to experienced artists of exceptional talent to produce original works of art or to advance their careers." The program enables artists to set aside time to create or present works of art, conduct research, purchase materials, attend workshops or seminars, generally advance their artistic careers, or cover loss of artistic materials resulting from theft, fire or other emergencies or disasters. Artists in any creative discipline may apply. To do so, go online to jahc.org for more details on grants and scholarships.

The public is invited to join Individual Artist Grant recipients in the JAHC Gallery on two Tuesdays in January from 5-7 p.m.:

Jan. 21: Hali Denton, "Tin House, Summer Writer's Workshop."

Jan. 28: Kathy Hocker, "The Art of Field Sketch."

The JAHC is located at 350 Whittier Street in Juneau.
