Free Tai Chi classes for seniors

A new series of free Tai Chi classes for Juneau residents, age 60 and older, is now open for registration, with the first class beginning on Jan 10. The classes are 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday and last for eight weeks. They’re taught by certified tai chi instructor Josielind Ferrer. The class runs for eight weeks at the Filipino Community Hall.

People who are interested in registering for the class, or who have any questions, should contact Eileen Hosey of Southeast Senior Services at 463-6113 or eileen.hosey@ccsjuneau.org. Participants will be enrolled on a first come, first served basis.

The Tai Chi classes are funded by a grant from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Senior and Disabilities Services.
