BUSINESS Capital City Weekly SITKA - Back in 1976, three Sitkan families saw a community need for a bookstore - so they started one. Now, almost 40 years later, Old Harbor Books is active in the community, and its values - the free exchange of ideas and giving back to the community - remain.

Making Local Work: Old Harbor Books

Old Harbor Books is housed in a historic Sitka building built in 1895. Since they bought the building, board members have at times rented space free of charge to some nonprofits.
