NEWS CAPITAL CITY WEEKLY Some buildings need a new coat of paint. Some are mere shells. The parking meters are wrapped in shrouds, the cigarette butt bins sometimes catch fire, and it isn’t always easy for business owners to improve their properties. But residents, artists, city officials and investors are working on projects and plans to fix the problems of downtown Juneau. Not least is a movement catalyzed by a documentary highlighting downtown Juneau’s problems, created by local filmmaker Pat Race and commissioned by businessman Bruce Denton.
