OUTDOORS Capital City Weekly The Tom Freeman Memorial 300 Bird shoot was held on July 11 in Juneau in memory of the beloved member of the Juneau Gun Club (JGC). Freeman was attending Texas A&M when WWII broke out. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he served as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific. In the 1950's, Freeman had a gun shop on S. Franklin St. He later worked for the Bureau of Public Roads and the Alaska Department of Transportation, from which he retired.
