AE Capital City Weekly R. D. Robinson is a resident of Douglas, who works a lot with stone and carvings. He recently refurbished a set of three head casts, made from mine tailings, that are of Juneau's founders. They can be seen on the Juneau Hotel. In the above photo, Robinson is working on a piece of John Wayne for the John Wayne Sports Bar. In the photos on the left, he worked on a large granite piece in front of The Island Pub in Douglas.

This panel of granite art, in front of The Island Pub in Douglas, was created with 7 tons of granite from 14 countries. Artist R. D. Robinson said the work was a gift from the Pub to the residents for having such a remarkable community. It was finished July 3, 2012. It contains eagles, ravens, salmon, and other wildlife and scenery found in the area.
