NEWS Capital City Weekly JUNEAU - On Feb. 21, sixteen Dzantiki Heeni Middle School students competed in the Southeast Alaska Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition at JDHS. The Dzantiki Heeni team was made up of students in grades 6th-8th and ended up sweeping the competition by winning first place in the Team Competition as well as the top Individual Scores. The team of Hannah Finochio, Ruby Steedle, Stephen Mell and Paul Whitehead will represent Southeast Alaska at the State Competition on March 21 in Juneau. Along with the top team, Reilly Schrader-Dee and Kevin Sigler will also compete at State as Individuals. Individually, Paul Whitehead placed first, Stephen Mell placed second and Ruby Steedle placed third.
