NEWS Capital City Weekly Since being displayed at Juneau's Statehood Ball on Jan. 3, Alaska's 50th Anniversary of Statehood Quilt has begun its tour of the state. The quilt was built by 147 artists and quilters from all over Alaska, each submitting squares that were then stitched together by volunteers and artists from the Alaska Fiber Festival. The squares were designed as representations of artists' interpretations of Alaska's Golden Anniversary.
