The educators at the Southeast Island Schools have recognized the potential of this non-traditional sport and have created an after school 4-H program to teach students rifle skills.

The U.S. Coast Guard received a request Wednesday, Oct. 24, for a medical evacuation for an eight- year-old boy who was injured during a playground accident in Port Alexander. Coast Guard Air Station Sitka safely recovered the injured boy and delivered him to awaiting medical personnel in Sitka.
